Geoff was born in Blackburn, Lancashire England and immigrated to the small town of Preston, Ontario, Canada with his blue collar parents at a young age. He graduated from Preston High School and as a young man was active in most sports while growing up.

After high school, he worked as an expediter at Canadian General Tower in Galt, Ontario until such time as his age allowed him to join the Ontario Provincial Police. He worked as a uniform patrol officer for ten years, serving in Glencoe and Milton. He then became a criminal investigator out of Burlington District HQ. After a year he was transferred to the Special Services Division – Intelligence Branch in downtown Toronto. Several months of orientation and he was then placed into a small elite and covert tactical unit, (Hamilton Joint Forces Unit) along with R.C.M.P., Hamilton and Halton officers. Their primary focus was investigating major crimes, particularly organized crime throughout southern Ontario, Quebec and upper New York.

He left the police department for medical reasons after twenty years. Some of the jobs he took on post-police, was working for Suncor Oil Company and followed that up with a job driving a big-rig throughout North America with Linamar Transportation of Guelph, Ontario. It was while driving alone for long periods of time that writing became front and center in his need to do list.

This yearn for writing came from influential writers such as David Baldacci, Richard North Patterson, William Bernhardt and several others. One of his favourite books was ‘The Onion Field’, a true story written by another former police officer turned author, Joseph Wambaugh of the LAPD.

Geoff decided if he was going to enter this arena, he would write in a genre he knew all too well, Crime fiction. It would be penned from a police officer’s perspective. How do they think? What do they feel and how do they deal with the various pressures? What about the constant obstacles that arise with regards to internal politics and the justice system when it comes to policing? These were all facets of policing he was about to uncover with his novels as seen through the works of his protagonist, Detective John Cooper.

Geoff currently lives with his wife Linda in Cambridge, Ontario.
